Volunteering
We believe GHC is a partnership between home and school where we work together to support one another. Because of this, we ask all families at GHC to put in service hours during the school year. Service opportunities are provided throughout the year and will be mentioned in school publications.
Families that have students in grades 1–8 are required to complete 20 hours of service. Families that have students in Young Fives or kindergarten are required to complete 10 hours of service. Single-parent families and families who have students at WMC and GHC are required to do 10 hours of service.
Families must keep track of their own hours using the Service Hours Form available from the school office. When the completed form is turned in to the office, their tuition account will be credited $300 (for 20 hours) or $150 (for 10 hours). Families who do not turn in the form or do not perform the service hours will not receive this credit.
Once and Again
Founded in 2005, Once and Again is an upscale thrift store located on Jackson St. in Grand Haven with all of the store’s profits benefiting GHC directly. Volunteers are needed to help in the back of the store processing donations as well as assistance with pick up and delivery of items. Please contact Rhonda Thom at 616-296-0677 if interested in volunteering or if you have gently used quality items to donate. Families who receive a tuition adjustment from FACTS are required to serve at least two hours at Once and Again.
DIBS! on Resale
GHC’s other thrift store is a partnership with its Collaborative Christian School partners. DIBS! is located in Muskegon on Apple Ave., just west of US31. Donations and volunteers are always welcome and help reduce the cost of collaborative expenses of the four schools. It’s always more fun to volunteer with others, so find a small group of friends and contact Mary Workman at 231-798-2252 to set up a day and time that works for you to help out in the store.
