BRIDGET EHLICH, SPANISH SPECIAL EDUCATOR

Bridget Ehlich

Spanish Special Educator

I attended Aquinas College to receive my Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching Certificate during which time, I studied and lived abroad in Costa Rica. Upon my return to Michigan, I worked as a Youth Advocate at the Hispanic Center of West Michigan in Grand Rapids (2 years). I worked as an English Language educator in Wyoming, MI Public Schools (1 year) and then worked as a Spanish immersion educator in Jenison Public Schools (7 years). I grew up on the Michigan Lakeshore and am so happy to have recently returned back “home” with my husband, John and two children, Jameson and Ava; who both attend Muskegon Christian School.

I spent time working at Muskegon Catholic Central as an administrator helping to coach staff on restorative practices and PBIS (positive behavior interventions and supports), and supporting students with following the school-wide expectations. I am very excited to be working at Grand Haven Christian and Muskegon Christian as a Spanish Special educator, and being able to incorporate faith into my teaching of the Spanish language, culture and more.

My favorite Bible verse is: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6. I am so grateful to God for making my path straight and leading me to two faith filled school communities where I look forward to helping children grow in their faith and in their Spanish abilities.

Deep Hope

My deep hope is that in learning another language and learning about other cultures of the world, we can see how God has made each of us uniquely different and in His image and likeness to bring beauty to the world.

Mi anhelo es que cuando aprendemos otro idioma y sobre otras culturas del mundo, podemos entender cómo Dios nos crecería únicos y diferentes a Su semejanza para crear belleza en el mundo.
