Kristin DeYoung
West Michigan Christian Schools Educational Support Director
I completed a double major in Special Education and Elementary Education at Western Michigan University, with a minor in Integrated Creative Arts. During my time there, I developed a deep love and passion for Special Education. I worked in Kalamazoo Public Schools, Bay Cliff Health Camp and Hope Network supporting children and adults with disabilities. Since then, I have been teaching and volunteering in Germany, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and various parts of Michigan; traveling around 22 countries and 29 states.
I have taught Special Education, Bilingual intervention, Spanish Immersion and English Language Learners, and love working with and learning from kids in any area! I am so grateful for the opportunity to use my experiences to serve and support teachers in my role through the WMCEC.
When I can find the time, I love reading, yoga, coffee, exploring new places with my family, and connecting with different cultures through travel and missions (both locally and globally). My husband Dave and I have two girls, Kenya and Amara, who both attend Grand Haven Christian.
