I’m so thankful that God has given me this opportunity to be a part of the amazing community at GHC.
Since graduating from Calvin College with my bachelor’s degree in elementary education, I have taught
at the elementary level, spent time at home with my children, taught 2 years of preschool, and served as
a director of Christian childcare centers in the West Michigan area. I have also taken grad classes in
early childhood education from Western Michigan University. God brought me to GHC in the fall of
2020 as a long term sub. In 2021 I was blessed to be hired full time. GHC is an amazing school and I love
working alongside a dedicated, compassionate group of teachers and staff members.

I was raised in Holland and attended Christian schools. Both of my parents were educators in the West
Michigan area. I met my husband Gary, while I was at Calvin College and we were married in 1992. We
are grateful for our three children, now all adults. Our family loves cook-outs, traveling, and hanging out
with our little dog. My husband and I enjoy antique shopping as well as taking MGB rides to the beach.

I have loved getting to know the staff and students at GHC and look forward to continuing to build those
relationships. I feel so blessed to be part of a Christian school where I can share my faith with the kids
each day and point them to our faithful, loving God! It is a joy to worship with my students and help
them hide the Word in their hearts.

I am passionate about incorporating literacy and art into all areas of the curriculum and planning a
variety of activities that resonate with children’s individual learning styles. I want each student to have
a fun, engaging learning experience while soaking in the truth that God is Love and we can put our
whole hope and trust in Him. I am so thankful and blessed to be able to carry out this mission at GHC.
