I was born and raised in Greenville, Mississippi, in the Mississippi Delta. My husband, Elias and I moved to West Michigan in 2006 to pursue his career in Dentistry. We have 3 children at GHCS; all in the Spanish Immersion Program: Margot, Elias, and Vida. We absolutely love this school community and have seen our kids grow to love it too.  GHCS has become a family and I am so excited to be part of the teaching team. Our kids love soccer and are part of Lakeshore FC travel soccer. When we are not on the soccer field, we love camping around our beautiful state, being on the water wake surfing as much as we can, and hiking the dunes. We have a sweet goldendoodle named Zeke. He is always with me and the kids!

We are members of Harvest Spring Lake. Elias and I volunteer in Harvest Kids Ministry as a large group and kindergarten teachers. It is so much fun! The Lord  has blessed us with a wonderful small group that has become our Michigan family.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in studio art from The University of Mississippi, with a minor in English. Part of my passion as an artist and teacher is to develop a stimulating classroom environment where kids can explore, develop, and engage in diverse mediums, and use their creativity as a form of worship. Art is a subject that cultivates students’ freedom of vision and practice of self- expression; which in turn builds their confidence. It is invigorating to witness the absolute joy the Lord gives those who begin to appreciate the creative process. I love to pour into these children and teach them the gifts of creativity that the Lord has given each and every one of them.

Deep Hope

My deep hope is that my students know God as our ultimate Creator and the Master Artist, that they understand themselves as part of His created work, and seek out ways to live their calling creatively.
